Who is behind this site?

Catherine Bray

JOINT EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Hi there. My name is Catherine Bray. I mostly work as a producer and filmmaker, but in the past I’ve written for Variety, Time Out, Sight & Sound and lots of others, and appeared as a reviewer on BBC One, BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service.

We wanted to create a simple and independent site with a focus on highlighting great films. Welcome!

Guy Lodge

JOINT EDITOR IN CHIEF

In contrast to Catherine, I review films pretty much constantly. My main outlets are The Observer, where I have a weekly home entertainment column, and Variety, where I’ve written reviews and features for around ten years. I write for lots of other places too — you can find a selection of almost 1000 reviews under my byline on Rotten Tomatoes, where I’m designated as a Top Critic.

This site is about recommending the best films currently available and coming soon. We hope you enjoy it.

Our writers.

You’ve just met them. We designed this as a two-person outlet, and that’s unlikely to change in the short term. If you’re interested in writing for Film of the Week, please sign up for the weekly newsletter and we’ll be sure to highlight any paid writing opportunities that might exist in the future.
